Abstract
The effectiveness of two plant growth regulators, Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and Thidiazuron (TDZ), on water morning glory seedling grown in 400 mg/kg phenenthrene or glyphosate contaminated soil were studied. Seeds of water morning glory were immersed in 0, 0.1, 1.0, 10.0 mg/l IBA or TDZ for 3 h and then sawn in soil contaminated with 400 mg/kg phenenthrene, 400 mg/kg glyphosate or non-contaminated soil. The response of seedlings to IBA and TDZ were different in different pollutant contaminated soil. IBA concentration at 1.0-10.0 mg/l increased root length of water morning glory seedling in phenanthrene contaminated soil, while 10.0 mg/l TDZ increased shoot length and shoot fresh weight of water morning glory in glyphosate-contaminated soil. IBA showed their advantage effect only on plant grown in phenanthrene contaminated soil while TDZ showed their advantage effect only with plant grown in glyphosate contaminated soil.
