Abstract

The purposes of this study were to evaluate the effects of creative art activities for the treatment of psychiatric patients. The objectives were to 1) study the effects of cognition in creative art therapy activities of psychiatric patients, 2) study the effect of the use of creative art therapy activities on behavior of psychiatric patients. 3)study the satisfaction of patients to participate in The Creative Art Activities Therapy Program. The Creative Art Activities Therapy Program followed in Art education process. The sampling group is eight patients during the rehabilitation phase in Loei Rajanagarindra Psychiatric Hospital by using simple random sampling. it had sampling group were analyzed for total seven. Research tools had two parts: the first for data collection consists of 1) a cognitive test. 2) Record form for group therapy activity. 3) Record form for participate group therapy 4)Satisfaction of participants in psychiatric patients, the second was conducted: 1)Six Creative Art Activities Therapy Program. The analysis data was completed using frequencies, percentages, means,      t-test, standard deviation and a lecture.

The research findings were as following :

1. Cognitive test results in creative art activities after activities

increased significantly to .05.

2. Sampling group with expression and appropriate behavior in creative arts therapy activities group. At 1^th – 4^th activities had interaction, relaxed, learning new creative activity in a group. At of  5^th and 6^th activities very quiet. Have been less encouraging because it is an activity that involves more complicated. On the other hand, They have been developed cognitive, Appropriate expression of behavior in the Creative art activity therapy programs and Participation in presentation of their artworks.

3.The satisfaction of the sampling group to The Creative Art Activities Therapy Programs at a good level.
