Abstract
Andrographis paniculata Nees. (Acanthaceae) is a medicinal plant widely cultivated it is used for the treatment of cold, fever, laryngitis and infection in many Asian countries. 14-Deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide (1), the principal diterpenoid lactone of this medicinal plant exhibit anti-inflammatory, anti-hypertensive, immunoregulatory, and anti-tumor properties. Eleven derivatives of 1 were prepared via silylation, alkylation and acetylation of 14-deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide (1). The synthesis began with regioselective silylation, alkylation and acetylation of compound (1) at C-19 gave 3-7 in moderate to good yield and acetylation of compound 3-7 to give compound 8-11 in good yield.
