Doing research is an important role of university lecturers in order to create newknowledge for teaching students, cultivating arts and culture, giving academicservices.  To promote universitylecturers to do research, most universities manage research services to helpthe lecturers to finish their research work and to do better one.  Therefore, this survey research collectedsome information useful for research services for the lecturers in a privateuniversity.84 of127 lecturers, who did the questionnaire, were female. 77.2% got master degree.  Most of them (93.7%) were Ajarn having noacademic position.  48.0% had doneresearch during 3 years and 20.5% had never done research.  75.76% of ones who used to do research didonly one or two or three research work.   That was the reason why they wanted to betrained about how to start research work and how to write research proposal.  More than being trained by researchspecialists from outside the university, they wanted research clinic whereresearch specialists in the university advise them to do better research.This revealsthat doing only one thesis during studying for master degree is not enough forself-doing research after finishing studying. If the universities should produce effective members of the society whocan work properly after finishing studying, it is seriously necessary for universities to develop their curriculumsand teaching methods to prepare their students to be more effective in reallives.  At least, anyone with masterdegree should be able to do qualified research. It means that everyone can search for new knowledge useful for theirlives and their work.  If not, theirworkplaces must manage research services to help their personnel to startresearch work.  Research services needed in a private university, found in the survey research,reveals clearly the quality of higher education system nowadays.
