Abstract

In this research, we introduced the bidding price generation model for full-truckload carriers to obtain the optimal bidding price in the combinatorial transportation auction in Thailand. For acquiring maximum expected profit from combinatorial transportation auction, we aimed to find optimal solution of bidder with simulation model in the incomplete information game. The research methodology captured Monte-Carlo Simulation with regression model to generate possible bidding prices of competitors in bidding game. Then we used Winner Determination Problem to find probability of winning with each bid price of bidder in the combinatorial auction. For optimal bidding price, we applied the Stochastic Optimization Model to find the best solution so that we could have the maximum expected profit in the combinatorial transportation auction in Thailand market. The result presented that benefit with optimal solution of bidder from this model in which was more than average market price in the bidding game considerably. On the other hand, the result also revealed that shipper could gain benefit potentially from reducing cost of transportation service procurement in combinatorial auction with this model.
